CarTrawler™ is the complete solution for the travel industry to increase their ancillary revenue through car rentals or as a single product offering. An uncomplicated and proven high margin revenue product.
Direct Connect Real Time
Each supplier is supported by a single dedicated Direct Connect Provider, which provides a redundant data link directly to the suppliers reservation system. This link is used by the CarTrawler™ core system to provide realtime bookings and availability (where applicable) on that supplier. Direct Connect Providers are housed in the same data center as the CarTrawler™ system, but may communicate with the remote reservation system(s) using many different technologies, including – but not limited to – TCP/IP, X25, MATIP, XML, HTTPS and others.

Open Systems
CarTrawler™ is built in a pure Java environment and is based on a LAMP (LINUX, Apache, MySQL) platform. The entire system is duplicated across two sites for failover and availability reasons and consists of the following major components:
  • Availability Engine: Outbound queries to suppliers.
  • Pricing Engine: Computational core implementing supplier or partner specific business logic.
  • Direct Connect Engine: The realtime interface between CarTrawler™ and suppliers.
  • Revenue and Yield Manager: Realtime decision support pricing and reporting information.
